At the beginning of 2020 the inland city of Orange, 250km inland from Sydney, was facing severe water shortage.
The towns water storage has a relatively small catchment area and is not supported by a major river so it is highly dependant on rainfall.
Orange City Council has put in place a stormwater harvesting system that treats stormwater through a network of wetlands and returns it to the town water supply. The residents of Orange transformed the way they used water and want to share their learnings with other towns experiencing water shortage.
