Join Clearwater, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and our expert presenters for a local, engaging and informative session to help staff improve management and maintenance of WSUD assets.
Training Overview
This course is designed to improve participants’ knowledge and skills to effectively maintain water sensitive urban design (WSUD) assets, build organisational capacity, collaboration and commitment on the topic, and identify and drive further action to address priority issues.
Street-scale WSUD assets include raingardens (bioretention), swales and wetlands.
The day is divided into different sessions and will cover various aspects. Participants may attend all or part of the day as relevant to their role.
Audience
The session has been structured to ensure relevance to:
-
‘Maintenance staff’: staff with a role in overseeing and/or undertaking the maintenance of WSUD assets (e.g. asset maintenance coordinators/team leaders, lead WSUD maintenance field staff).
-
‘Broader staff’: middle management (coordinator to manager level) with a broader role in the lifecycle management (planning, design, delivery and/or maintenance) of WSUD assets, both from a capital works and developer-led perspective. This may include relevant staff involved in such areas as asset management, engineering, parks/open space, urban design, etc.)
Delivery Mode & Format
Duration: One-day (face-to-face) training [9:00am to 4:00pm]
Format: Presentations, interactive activities, live demonstration, Q&A, site visits of local street-scale WSUD assets (application of knowledge to real-world examples), group discussion.

-
Define key tasks and inspection frequency associated with maintaining WSUD assets
