This seminar is being held by the Melbourne Water Industry Climate Change Committee (MWICCC). The MWICCC is a group of representatives from Melbourne Water, South East Water, City West Water and Yarra Valley Water. It was created to assist all parties better understand, manage and address the risks that climate change presents to the Melbourne water industry by sharing information and working efficiently on common challenges.

Climate change is recognised as a key challenge for water authorities. How are you managing the risks? What is current best practice? What can you do?

You are invited to attend an interactive seminar session which brings together industry experts and peer presenters to share the latest approaches, guidance and practical examples in mitigating and adapting to climate change.

Presentations on the day will be supported by time for discussions and networking along with morning tea and lunch.

As an attendee you will:

  • Get the latest science update from BoM and find out what it means for you
  • Hear from DELWP on their current policies and direction with respect to climate change
  • Learn about best practice in adapting to climate change including leading research outcomes from CSIRO, the new industry guidelines and examples of adaptation in practice, both from the water and external industries
  • Find out where the industry is heading with mitigation both in planning and practice and share lessons from other industries
  • Learn how we can better engage with the community in our climate change work
  • Have the opportunity to meet and discuss these issues with your peers

Ideal for anyone involved in the design, planning and management of water and liveability services. This includes all from board members to technical staff.
