You’re invited to join Melbourne Water and local governments from across greater Melbourne for an information sharing and networking event focused on constructed stormwater treatment wetlands.

 

Clearwater and the stormwater incentives team from Melbourne Water look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne Water’s Docklands site on 16 April 2024. This will be an opportunity to talk about wetlands, from planning and design through to monitoring and maintenance, to deliver waterway health outcomes along with opportunities for wider benefits for the community and biodiversity. There will be opportunity to:

  • Participate in collaborative discussions: engage with fellow WSUD/IWM officers from councils across Greater Melbourne to exchange ideas and insights.
  • Learn about the latest wetland research: hear from Melbourne Water’s researchers about research-informed wetland design, cost-effective indicators of wetland performance, wetland contaminants and real-time control of wetland outlets.
  • Find out how Melbourne Water manages wetlands: explore the life cycle of wetland maintenance, including planning, audits, rectification and de-silting, and key pitfalls to avoid.
  • Hear about local government wetland case studies: Hear from Merri-bek Council about their innovative wetland projects.
  • Explore funding opportunities: explore potential project funding ideas through Melbourne Water's stormwater incentives program.

🕘 Time: 10am start (sign in at reception 9:45am) to 1.30pm.  Please note the last 30 minutes is optional group chat discussion should you need to leave at 1pm.
