Overview:

Join Clearwater and Alan West from the City of Kingston to visit this exciting multi-functional integrated stormwater improvement project in its final stages of construction.

This $4M project has been designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Mitigate flooding for 70 ha residential catchment from 1 in 6 months to 1 in 5 years.
  • Treat the stormwater at the pipe outlet to achieve best practice pollutant removal targets
  • Harvest the treated stormwater to irrigate the sports reserves, flush toilets at the nearby council facilities and supplement Council’s street tree watering program. Combined tanks will have a 1,380 kL capacity.
  • Provide an outfall drain that will allow the pipe system to be constructed in stages

Please note this is a single site visit rather than a tour to multiple locations. Participants will be responsible for organising their own travel to the site.
