We are excited to announce Carol Jadraque as the new Manager for the Clearwater team.
During the 2015 calendar year, Carol will focus on shaping the Clearwater Program’s strategic direction and explore organisational development opportunities alongside her highly competent team and many partners and stakeholders.
With over 12 years of professional experience across the sector of natural resources and environmental management, sustainability, innovation and communications, she has achieved multiple award-winning and world class organisational improvement outcomes, applying strong leadership, strategic planning and change management capabilities.
At Hume City Council, she initially oversaw the community-based environmental education program, went on to lead the urban environment team as well as manage the Council’s environment department. During her five years at Melbourne Water as Manager of Sustainability & Innovation, she influenced the organisation to improve sustainability in all its workings and coordinated the development of the organisation-wide Strategic Framework as well as biodiversity and innovation strategies, amongst others. In her latest role as Deputy Director of The Nature Conservancy’s Australia Program, she was in charge of the conservation, external affairs, HR and finance portfolios, requiring her to introduce change, build internal capability and travel far and often.
She considers herself a global citizen with Australian and Swiss citizenship to a Spanish father and Swiss mother and has lived and worked in remote locations such as the Amazon rainforest (temporarily managing a small nature and wildlife conservation NGO) or uninhabited islands off the Western Australian coast (tagging turtles by night), amongst other valuable life experiences.
These days, she can be found in her ‘natural’ Melbournian environment, busily riding her bicycle to and from work and chasing any opportunity to keep exploring the great urban and natural outdoors by foot, bike, horse or in and on the water!
