Have your say: Draft State Environment Protection Policy (Waters)

The State Environment Protection Policy (Waters of Victoria) sets the framework for government agencies, businesses and the community to work together to protect and rehabilitate Victoria’s surface water environments.

As a key action in the implementation of Water for Victoria, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) have developed a new draft SEPP (Waters), a policy impact assessment and an implementation plan, merging the Waters for Victoria and Groundwaters for Victoria State Environment Protection policies.

The review provides a simple, more streamlined policy that reflects community values, applies updated science, better clarifies industry obligations, and provides for greater accountability.

Have your say: consultation on the draft SEPP (Waters), draft policy impact assessment and draft implementation plan is open until 19 June 2018. Submissions can be made online, by email, or by post.
