Congratulations to the 2015 Stormwater Victoria Awards for Excellence Winners.

Winners received their awards at the Gala Dinner at the Park Hyatt Hotel on Thursday 3 September.

 

EXCELLENCE IN ASSET MANAGEMENT

  • Winner: Hume WSUD Asset Audit and Rectification Project by Hume City Council, Optimal Stormwater and Stormywater Solutions 

EXCELLENCE IN INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Winner: Airport Drive & Steele Creek North Stormwater Enhancement Project by Spiire, Australia Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd (APAM Pty Ltd), Parsons Brinkerhoff, Water Technology, ANCOLD,  John Holland Pty Ltd, Aquatec Pty Ltd, North Projects Pty Ltd and Aurecon Australia
  • Highly commended: Maribyrnong Park Rotunda Raingardens and Wetland by DesignFlow, Moonee Valley City Council, Fulton House and Contek Constructions.

EXCELLENCE IN INTEGRATED STORMWATER DESIGN

  • Winner: Gum Scrub Creek, Officer by Outlines Landscape Architecture, Places Victoria, Cardinia Shire Council, Melbourne Water, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Calibre Consulting, Neil Craigie, Cities as Water Supply Catchments research program (later incorporated into the Coopoerative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities), Australian Ecosystems, and local nurseries

EXCELLENCE IN POLICY OR EDUCATION 

  • Highly commended: Crayfish Plugin for Quantum GIS (QGIS) - An easy to use & free video rendering tool for flood modelling outputs by Maroondah City Council and Lutra Consulting 
  • Highly commended: Stormwater Pollution Educational Awareness Campaign by Australian Car Wash Association, Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), Victorian EPA, Stormwater Australia and Stormwater Victoria, RACV

EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND INNOVATION 

  • Winner: Innovations in Maintenance - Development of the Monash Kerb Inlet for Passive Irrigation of Street Trees by City of Monash, SaFer Engineering Solutions and SVC Products Pty Ltd 
  • Highly commended:  'Hitting the hot spots' - A Strategic Approach to Source point Pollution Management on the Peninsula by Mornington Peninsula Shir Council, Melbourne Water and EPA Victoria 

EXCELLENCE IN STRATEGIC OR MASTER PLANNING 

  • Winner: Elizabeth Street Catchment Integrated Water Cycle Management Plan 2015 by Ciy of Melbourne, DELWP, Melbourne Water, City West Water, University of Melbourne, RMIT & GHD 
  • Highly commended: Leneva Whole of Water Cycle Management Plan (WWCMP) by Spiire, North East Water, City of Wodonga, Barwon Water, Marsden Jacobs and Inxure
