What residents have to say about life on the urban fringe

21/02/2019

RMIT University researchers produced a short documentary film, Living Liveable, about the experiences of residents in outer suburbs of Melbourne. The findings provide insights for planners working to address the gaps in current measures of liveability for the outer suburbs and the need to meaningfully engage the communities in the planning process.

The research finds that city centres are no longer the only hot spots experiencing population growth that requires integrated planning. Newer outer suburban areas also require a high level of integrated planning.
